Raeon designs and manufactures custom battery modules in Warwick, UK. We specialise in low to medium-volume, high-value bespoke packs for specialist vehicle manufacturers across defence, marine, aerospace, motorsport, robotics and niche automotive. We also have high volume manufacturing via our partners, Hidria, in Europe.
Yes. Raeon builds custom battery packs for uncrewed ground vehicles, drones and UAVs, shaped to fit the available space in your platform rather than forcing you to design around a standard module.
There is no minimum order quantity. Because Raeon's FloLock™ process requires no tooling, a batch of one is commercially viable — and the same design scales through to series production without retooling.
Raeon delivers a first custom battery prototype in typically 12 weeks. A technical proposal follows within 48 hours of the initial conversation, and a commercial proposal within a further 48 hours once the technical solution is agreed.
Raeon's FloLock™ process removes the need for expensive injection-moulding tooling, cutting typical bespoke battery development costs significantly. Conventional custom battery programmes can exceed £2 million per design.
Yes. Raeon designs and manufactures at its UK Battery Manufacturing Centre in Warwick, giving defence and security customers a domestic source for custom battery modules. Raeon has delivered modules for marine defence (UUV) and aerospace defence (UAV) programmes.
Raeon is cell agnostic. We work with NMC, LFP, LTO, sodium-ion, NCA and LMFP chemistries, sourcing directly from a database of over 100 suppliers, 50+ cell formats from 18650 through to 60XX, and more than 450 individual cell models. The cell is chosen against each application's energy, power, safety and life requirements rather than supply-chain convenience.
Yes. FloLock™ resin encapsulation produces rigid, thermally-managed modules in almost any shape or size without tooling, configurable up to 1.2m × 0.8m — filling irregular volumes such as a curved hull, a transmission tunnel or a tight robotics chassis. Our patent-pending anyVolt™ dual-layer busbar design decouples voltage and capacity from the module footprint, supporting system voltages from 12V to 1000V within the same envelope.
Yes. Raeon provides UN38.3 certification with over 70% of testing performed in-house, alongside battery management systems, active cooling, power distribution units and full pack build. Every battery is serialised for full traceability.
Raeon serves defence across ground, marine and air, plus aerospace, marine and leisure, niche and performance automotive, motorsport, restomod, off-highway, robotics, rail, warehouse and materials handling. The common thread is applications where standardised batteries are unsuitable and volumes are too low to interest mass-market suppliers.
We're continuing to expand our in-house testing capabilities all the time! Raeon's current testing and validation covers bidirectional cycling to 600A/600V, thermal cycling from −40°C to 150°C, low-pressure altitude simulation, mechanical shock, environmental chambers and high-precision electrical diagnostics, extended through an established external network for specialist abuse testing and cell characterisation.
Yes. The Warwick facility is a 6,000 sq ft semi-automated site with capacity up to 60 MWh and approximately 30,000 units per year. For higher volumes, Raeon partners with Hidria — part of the Gonvarri Industries group — which can produce up to 120,000 units per year using Raeon's patent-pending technology, keeping high-value assembly in the UK and Europe.
